To all those who have been praying for the Chapmans and their upcoming public appearances, thank you! If you caught the Good Morning America interview, I am sure you can attest to the fact that Maria's life was honored, their children and the body of Christ were blessed and most of all the Lord was glorified. It was authentic and honest, heartwrentching and hopeful! May it bring healing to the many who mourn their own losses.
Mary Beth expressed the grieving mother's heart, Steven the Father's heart of unconditional love, Emily the reality of the human journey, Caleb that of brotherly love, and then in Will Franklin we witnessed a living testimony whose life speaks about hope and healing in great pain and brokenness through the power of God. In them, the world witnessed the Gospel!
Our hope is that those who are living without hope, now question, seek and find what kind of faith this family must possess that has held them together in hope and love! Don't miss tonight's interview with them on Larry King Live. Also, please take a moment to read Steven's article published on CNN.com http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Music/08/07/chapman.orphans/index.html
Please keep praying. The Chapmans are admittedly hurting and weak right now. They are clinging to the promise of God's great strength in their own human weakness for what is still to come.
We grieve not as the world grieves, but we grieve with hope. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ for our gift of the resurrection from the dead and the hope of our reunion with the saints!
I thought it was very well done. In fact, I think they should make it an ABC 20/20 special....

I do think Good Morning America did a good job with the segment -- but I thought they left out one key component: what the Chapmans' faith is in. They totally glossed over God, Jesus, Christianity. You can assume SCC's faith is in Jesus, but I thought the editors did a poor job showing that in the segment. I am looking forward to the Larry King Live segment.

The West Coast just got to see it. I think they did a great job, factoring in time constraints and such. What Will was saying about Caleb and Shaoey running to him... Wow.

The piece was wonderful. The part that stood out to me was Mary Beth's. How I relate to the fact that we know that good will come and God will be glorified, but my mother's heart just wants my baby back! How well I can relate to her. Thank you Mary Beth! and you too Kerry!

(I posted on the wrong entry earlier, sorry)
Mary Beth expressed well the feelings of someones loss and longing and yearning for them back intact...willing to forego the good that may come of interviews an furthur testimony. Praise God that she knows His understanding her feelings and His love of her along with her feelings. She demonstrated to me the freedom and security we find in Christ to be His child every moment, feeling or unfeeling. All of Maria's family demonstrated to me, the love that sustains and upholds. Not unlike what Mr. Chapman said to Will from the car as they left out for hospital..."Your father loves you".

My heart aches for Mary Beth - no mother should suffer such a loss. I "know" that they grieve with hope, but that does not mean that the pain of such a deep loss is ever minimized. God Bless you Mary Beth. From one mom to another.

I too am glad that Mary Beth felt she could be so honest and open, it took great courage to put into words what I would be afraid to say- all I want is Zachary (and Maria) back.
The prayers continue to flow along with the tears.

Yes, I watched and it was very touching and done tastefully just like I expected it would be. God bless you!

I, too, resonated with Mary Beth's comments. We moms who have precious ones in Heaven are grateful that somehow God can use our pain, but we are still moms who miss our kids and would take them back in a minute. I appreciated her transparency and how she and SCC always came back to our certain hope.

They did a really good job with the interview, although I wish there could have been more. I pray that the gospel message gets so clearly portrayed tonight to the watching world.
I also pray that I'm either in Philadelphia or Baltimore at 9pm, and not between. :)

Watching now. I also emailed a question in. Praying for them hard.

I watched, wept, wanted to respond. Today I found this blog conversation, perhaps this is the place.
As a grandmother who lost in one day three precious little ones about to be adopted into the family, already my own grandchildren in my heart, I could somewhat relate to the pain, the senseless loss. Mary Beth expressed it well, we will not understand it this side of eternity. And Steven blamed the evil one in this world who is out to destroy God's children. The entire family confirmed to the whole world that God gives victory and turns tragedy into triumph. I came across a quote recently: "...unimaginable hardship is as much a part of grace as is prosperity." We caught a glimpse of that grace.
Thank you!
