Very happy to have read this today...thank you, Kerry!!!

Hope you, your family and fellow blog readers:) have an amazing day.

Ouch, that stung. I needed to hear that and was actually quoting Matthew 6:34 to myself over and over yesterday. I need to focus on that and what God is doing. I know he is waiting on us and what he is doing with us. We are not waiting on him.

JulieinCA

actually Matthew 6:33 has been added to the 34 today.

These verses you, JulieinCA, mentioned (Matthew 6:33-34) were actually circling in my mind as I was writing that blog but I never included them. But since they are so perfectly pertinent, and you so graciously reminded us of them, I am writing them out for us all here. "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Kerry

Wow, this really hit home. Thanks for the great insight. Peace to you.

Kerry,
Thank you so much for your blogs/devotions. They always speak to me and help me so much in my faith and spiritual life. This one in particular met me where I am - I'm a grad student facing comprehensive exams in a month, and I've been struggling with that because I'm still working on classes, grading, etc, and my adviser keeps piling more work on me - all of which makes me want to just stop and procrastinate instead! So thank you for the reminder that if I walk faithfully with God, He will provide me with enough for the day, each day, and if I make good use of what He gives me, it will get me where He needs me to be.

You're right, one step at a time and keep a listening ear. We can hear from God if we are tuned in to Him. Thanks for the reminder!

The Holy Spirit at work in our hearts is a beautiful thing. So amazing and it never fails to inspire awe in our God. I have seen such a change in my countenance these last two days since reading this and continually quoting the Matthew scriptures.

Kerry,

Thinking of you. I guess Bible Study is tonight, huh? Please share with us what you glean. Praying that the Lord will pour out His Spirit abundantly in your midst.

thank you! thank you! thank you! you've encouraged me so much...but today, more than you can imagine! since seth's death 18 months ago greg and i have felt like God was preparing us for something. in the last 6 months He has shown us what He wants us to do. God has called us to start a non-profit ministry to grieving children. we want to provide a Christian-based center for children who are on their own 'grief road' to meet other children experiencing the same feelings/thoughts that they are having. we have called it 'starlight ministries' star in memory of seth (he'd always say 'i love you to the moon and to the stahs...we adopted him from russia and he didn't quite say his 'r's very well. it's one of the things i miss most about him) and light becuz we told our other children that we didn't understand why God asked them to lose their brother but somehow, someway God was going to use them as lights to someone else. needless to say, this feels VERY overwhelming to us. it seems like such an uphill climb, but it's one that He has called us to climb. i feel VERY out of my comfort zone and very much right in the middle of His hands - the best place to be! so your blog today encouraged me to keep moving forward - one step at a time. so thank you! thank you! thank you! hope you are doing well...thought of you so often in january and again at easter time. easter changes after we have kids in heaven doesn't it? i always say it's my MOST hope-filled day now.
walking the same road together...

Kerry,
Oh,my goodness! Mike and I read this entry AFTER we made our decision to say "YES" to our three precious ones in Ethiopia last Friday (the same date as this blog)...but WOW! What an affirmation for us! We were truly encouraged by your words and God used them to say once again, "It WAS time to heed!" And Hebrews 11:1 has been quoted over and over again on our journey this past year! Incredible! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Peace,

Kerry,

I check by daily to see what God has laid on your heart, and I'm missing your insights. I'm thinking maybe He asked you to take a blog-break, which I understand. Please know "you've got people :)" who lift you and your family up to the Lord often. We're missing you, but we'll be here when you come back.

Love from NC.

Christine

kerry,
I too check your blog daily. Have missed your encouraging words and thought to lift you and your family up in prayer. No pressure to blog just wanted to let you know.

Diane
